Recommendations to avoid melanoma include basic sun safety measures such as sunscreen, protective clothing, and shade. Another key piece is early detection of suspicious lesions. If there are new spots or spots that have changed shape, men should visit a doctor to have it checked out. If caught early, melanoma is one of the most treatable cancers. However, the death rate is rising each year, so it’s important to be vigilant.
