Weight swings may be risky for overweight heart patients

A new study has found that drastic fluctuating weight can actual be the cause of heart problems for people that are overweight. The study suggests that one of the main causes of this is the bad habit of yo-yo dieting. This is where there is a phase of dieting in which the person loses a significant amount of weight, but then ends the diet and regains the weight. The person then does another drastic diet losing a large amount of weight again. This stress on the body in overweight people is believed to be causing the heart issues and doctors are recommending that once the weight is off keep it off or maintain a weight.
