Exercise is important but you shouldn’t just throw yourself into a strenuous routine. If your body isn’t used to it you can hurt yourself by pulling a muscle or worse. It is possible to warm up though, and that will ready your body for what you want to do. You need to gradually work up to a more strenuous routine and the importance of this is outlined here. It is good fitness advice and will keep you from doing yourself serious damage.
