Visually Impaired Ultrarunner Has a New Guide: His 15-Year-Old Son With Autism

Ultrarunner Jason Romero knows a little about beating the odds in sport. Forty-six year old Romero is legally blind, but he hasn’t let that stop him from competing in the top ultra-long distance races in the country. These days, he has a new running partner — his fifteen-year old son, Sage. Sage is autistic, but that doesn’t stop him from being his dad’s eyes — and encourager — as they train and race together.
