A professor at the the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center has discovered a natural way to help combat insomnia without modern drugs. Many adults, especially as they age, suffer from insomnia. In a study conducted by Professor Jack Losso, research participants were split into two groups and given either cherry juice twice a day, or a flavored placebo liquid. On the days they were given the real juice, their time spent asleep increased over an hour per night as verified by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index.
Key Takeaways:
- A researcher at Louisiana State University’s Agricultural Center has released a study on a possible way to combat insomnia.
- Sixteen ounces of cherry juice, taken twice a day, was shown to have a link to increased amount of sleep.
- The study’s results were checked against the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, which measures efficiency of sleep.
