Equestrians are the only Olympic competitors where age is not a hindrance. There are many equestrians that are well pass middle aged that are still riding in the Olympics. This is why many of the older fans of the Olympics usually keep up with the equestrians. Unlike most of the Olympians, the equestrians might be around for 5, 6, or even more Olympics. This allows people to get to know them better and to follow them longer. It also allows for more experience over time, which is something that many of the other games lack.
