Physical inactivity is deadly to the elderly for a number of reasons, including but not limited to: heart disease, elevated blood pressure, sugar levels, cholesterol levels, increased weight and increased risk of blood clots. Maintaining a healthy diet and activity level helps keep people living better, longer lives. Activities as simple as taking a stroll around the neighborhood have an impact on overall health. The importance of physical activity, especially in the golden years, cannot be overstated.
