When you age, even if you are physically fit, it is still easier to hurt yourself then when you were younger. This seems unfair, you are trying to stay fit and take care of yourself but you will never have the body or the ability that you had when you were young. To help reduce the risk of calf strain in older runners, make sure that you work on having more muscle tone, wear the right shoes, and make sure not to skip stretches before and after run.
