While most men don’t necessarily think about bone health when they are young, they should take precautions and try to prevent a decrease in bone density. It was recently discovered in a study that people should do more weight lifting and plyometric exercises. The study found that when participants in one group focused on weight lifting and lunges and squats their IGF-1 levels improved, which is a hormone that turns on bone growth. While the second group of participants focused on plyometric-inspired exercises such as single and double-leg jumps and their IGF-1 levels also improved.
