If you can’t do a pull-up, you can train up with machines. Using a cable machine, attach a bar. Set the weight to a difficulty you can accomplish with some effort, pulling the bar down from above. If you’re ready to train harder, use an assisted pull-up machine. Set the assistance weight and practice good pull-up form. After this, you should be ready to accomplish free-hanging pull-ups. Once you’ve mastered those, strap-on weights to increase pull-up difficulty.
