In the late 1970’s, professional golfers were not always in peak physical shape. Even though they were in the category of professional athletes, pro golfers physique were often times sub-par. That is no longer the case today as the current pros tend to stay fit. The shift from flabby pro golfers to fit pros is in part due to one man. Gary Player. Now in his eighties, Player thought golf athleticism and physical fitness should collide. He worked out frequently, while winning tournaments and still maintains his fitness in his later years and recommends others follow his fitness and diet regime.
