A review of 39 studies has shown that getting regular exercise improved thinking and memory in those over 50. It even works for those with already declining brain function. Exercises delivers a boost of blood, oxygen and essential brain nutrients. Studies have also shown that participating in 150 minutes worth of weekly exercise, decreases dementia and depression, while improving mental health. Brain health is further boosted by eating healthy, limiting alcohol, avoiding smoking and keeping mentally active.
