A high sugar count in blood tests has been link with Alzheimer’s disease in a new study. The University of Bath discovered that excessive glucose levels could harm an enzyme that acts early in the Alzheimer’s process. The enzyme is called MIF and works with the immune function and insulin. Diabetics are known for having high blood sugar levels and a higher risk of suffering Alzheimer’s. The doctors believe this study is a strong reason for controlling sugar consumption.
