An hour of running can be one of the most effective exercises to increase your health. So much so, that in fact new studies have found runners tend to live about three years longer than average. Previous studies have shown that as little as five minutes of daily running was associated with longer life spans. Hour for hour, running has the greatest impact returning time to people’s lives versus what it consumes. One hour of running equals seven hours of life expectancy. The findings are associational so that runners do live longer but it cannot be proven that it is directly from the running itself, as runners also tend to lead healthy lives in general.
