6 Reasons Hangovers Get Worse with Age

Most adults who partake in excess drinking may notice that their hangovers only get worse as they get older. Science supports this claim. As we age our liver begins to function more slowly than ever before, and the same goes for our metabolism. Slowing of the metabolism can lead to weight gain, which can overall raise alcohol tolerance causing older individuals to drink more than they should. It is suggested to give the liver time to process the drink intake by spacing out the beverages by the hour and having equal amounts of water following each alcoholic beverage.
