When a man ages, staying in shape can become more and more difficult. There are many mistakes that men can make when trying to achieve their goals in health and exercise. The first mistake is that some men use their age as an excuse to not work out. Along with this, it can be said that some men are stuck in a rut of a familiar routine or workout plan that they have been using for years, which doesn’t challenge their body and push it to new levels. Going hand in hand with this, men over 40 tend to make the mistake of allowing their past (and sometimes inaccurate) experiences in working out to actually deter future progress. The fourth mistake is that men don’t focus on the basics. They don’t adhere to focusing on things like sleeping 7-8 hours per night and drinking lots of water throughout the day, along with eating well and taking vitamins. Finally, men tend to make the mistake of not training with their age in mind. Workouts and exercises must be tailored to the goals of a 40+ year old, and goals must be realistic. It’s not realistic to continue to train as if you were in your early 20’s.
