Growing old gracefully is something you can control, to some extent. Getting enough sleep every night (7-8 hours) can help. Staying hydrated by drinking lots of water or herbal teas can help flush toxins from your system. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables helps by providing antioxidants. Use sun protection can help keep wrinkles from forming and guard against skin cancer. If you smoke, quit. The dangers of smoking are well-documented. Exercise, even walking the dog or playing more with the kids, or going to an exercise class, can help. Cut out the refined sugars and substitute honey and fresh fruit. Moisturize your skin after every shower to keep it soft and stave off wrinkles. Eat good fats such as olive oil and fatty fish. And lastly, focus on positive things. Positive thinkers live longer.
